I now teach in Frederick County at Walkersville High School.

I used to teach at Monocacy Middle School. I taught 8th grade math and Algebra I.

Before that, I taught Precalculus, Chemistry, Physics, and General Science to Juniors and Seniors at Rehoboth Christian School.  I started teaching in 2010 and taught in New Mexico since 2011 until 2016.  I enjoy math, science, and philosophy (hence the title of the blog).

My former school, Rehoboth Christian School, is a Pre-K through 12 school which consists of about 500 students. In the high school, most of my classes are between 20 and 30 students, though I get the occasional small class (9 or 12 students). The school is a private Christian school, but the demographic is not a typical private school. We have a tuition model which adjusts for family income, so I think only a small percentage of our student body pays the full tuition (more info here). Our school is also very diverse (~70% Native American students, ~20% Anglo students, and ~10% students of Hispanic descent & other minorities) which I really appreciate.

Thanks for reading and I hope that this blog helps!

  1. Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for your 2014 article about Classkick on iPads. Next week, we’re launching the first web version of Classkick. This release finally makes the app available to students on Chromebooks and computers.

I would love to get your feedback before we go public. Would you like to try it out?

    Thanks for your help!
